Job Summary
The Data Entry Clerk will support the Sales Department by inputting paper-based information into our digital systems. The company will rely on the Data Entry Clerk for having accurate and updated data that is easily accessible through a digital database.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Type in data provided directly from customers.
- Collect data from the database or electronic files as requested.
- Organize system backups on a regular basis to ensure data preservation.
- Perform verification of data by comparing it to source documents.
- Review and update existing data.
- Move data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards٫ data recorders or optical scanners.
- Prepare spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.
- Manage paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.

- Ability to understand written/verbal instructions
- Ability to operate office equipment and computer hardware
- Ability to input data quickly but accurately (WPM 45+)
- 10-key by touch
- Attention to detail
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
- 1+ years’ experience working as a Data Entry Clerk a plus
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Detail-oriented and have the capability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
- Efficiently multi-task while maintaining precision.
