The ideal candidate will excel in both independent and collaborative settings, working with teams across the organization to ensure our IT assets deliver the reliability, performance, and value necessary to support our rapidly growing business.

Responsibilities:


  • Network Support:Provide onsite and remote network administration and support in a 24x7 manufacturing operation for both IT and OT systems. This includes ensuring network reliability and addressing any urgent issues that may arise.
  • Proactive Maintenance:Ensure continuous operation through proactive planning, maintenance, and monitoring of critical IT networks and supporting systems across multiple sites. This involves regular updates, patches, and performance tuning to prevent downtime.
  • Network Design and Troubleshooting:Design, set up, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to Cisco hardware, wireless, switching, and routing. This includes configuring network devices, optimizing network performance, and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Security Support:Provide technical support for network security platforms, including Cisco ISE and Secure Network Analytics. This involves implementing security policies, monitoring security threats, and responding to security incidents
  • Infrastructure Management:Administer, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure comprised of Cisco Catalyst and IE3000 series switches, wireless controllers, and access pointswith DNA Center and Cisco ISE. This includes managing network configurations, monitoring network health, and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Documentation:Create and maintain detailed systems documentation. This includes documenting network configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Project Participation:Participate in multiple business projects and provide technical expertise and support as needed. This involves collaborating with project teams, providing network-related insights, and ensuring network requirements are met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and make expert recommendations for improvements to IT platforms, architecture, and capabilities to ensure appropriate service levels, performance, and cost of ownership. This includes staying updated with the latest network technologies and best practices.

Skills/Qualifications Required:


  • Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of experience in designing, implementing, securing, and troubleshooting Cisco wired and wireless multi-site networks. Proficiency with IP networking design and operational concepts, including subnetting, tunneling, and QoS using LAN and WAN connectivity. Extensive experience with Cisco IOS and Cisco hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless LAN controllers, with a strong comfort level in operation and configuration using the CLI.
  • Technical Skills:Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting L2 technologies. Hands-on experience with Cisco DNAC and/or ISE is a plus. Familiarity with Azure Cloud Architecture and Microsoft Azure AD/DHCP/DNS is also beneficial.
  • Hardware: Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series, Catalyst CW9800M Wireless Controllers, Secure Firewall 4225 NGFW Appliance’s, Defense Orchestrator for Firepower 4225 and Catalyst 9606 multilayer switches configured as a Stackwise Virtual pair.
  • Professional Skills:Demonstrated professional behavior when communicating and working with members, vendors, and/or customers. Promotes effective communication and interaction among departments and clearly and concisely expresses professional opinions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Certifications:CCNA andCCNP certifications are preferred.
  • Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments
  • Working conditions and physical requirements:
  • Standard Office Hours: The position typically requires working standard office hours. However, there are shared on-call duties for off-hours to ensure network reliability and address any urgent issues that may arise.
  • Physical Requirements: The role involves some physical activity, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. This may be necessary for tasks such as installing or moving network equipment.
  • Work Environment: The work environment is primarily an office setting but may also include visits to various company sites to support network infrastructure. This could involve working in different conditions, such as data centers or manufacturing facilities.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support network operations at different company locations. This could include both short-term and extended trips, depending on project needs and support requirements.
