Accountant
Lucas Systems is growing, and we are seeking an experienced, well-rounded accounting professional to join our team in Wexford, Pennsylvania. This role will play an integral part in every aspect of the Accounting Department’s support of the business operations as well as serve as back-up for our Corporate Controller. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will interact and work closely with all the departments to maintain and drive Lucas’ continued success.
This position is full-time, working in the Wexford office.
Responsibilities
The Accountant has responsibility for the following:
- Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Credit Checks, Collections and Cash Application
- Accounts Payable, Data Entry and Check Runs
- Billing and Reporting Assistance (Cost Accounting) to Project Managers
- Procurement of Customer Hardware Orders
- Sales and Use Tax Preparation and Filing
- Journal Entries and Month End Closing
- General Ledger Account Reconciliations
- Bank Account Reconciliations
- Reviewing (for compliance with company policies), Tracking and Processing of Employee Expenses
- Financial Reporting
- Month End and Year End Projects
- Administrative Support & Ad Hoc Projects (as may be needed from time to time)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; candidates with equivalent, applicable work experience will be considered.
- Ideally, 3+ years of general accounting experience
- Project Accounting experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-Starter with attention to detail, reporting and deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Office, Accounting software packages and Internet applications (NetSuite a plus)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
