We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT team, reporting directly to the Vice President of IT. This role is vital to maintaining, optimizing, and innovating our IT infrastructure to support the dynamic needs of our growing organization. You will collaborate with various teams to implement robust, scalable, and secure systems while troubleshooting complex challenges with efficiency and precision.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable IT infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, availability, and security to ensure seamless business operations.
- Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, while adhering to deadlines and budgets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess business needs and recommend technology solutions.
- Develop and document system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery preparedness.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to IT team members.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, proposing enhancements to optimize IT operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in system engineering, network administration, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices.
- Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly works in an office or data center environment.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- May require occasional after-hours or weekend work to address system issues or deployments.
