Job Description


We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Manager, to join our Banking Vertical within the Wise Platform team in North America. In this role, you will help deliver world-class API payment solutions to banks powered by Wise’s cutting-edge infrastructure.Wise Platform has successfully partnered with leading financial institutions globally, including Morgan Stanley, Standard Chartered and Mandiri, connecting and powering 80+ banks and financial platforms through our technology stack.We’re seeking a business development leader with a proven track record of working with the largest banks and financial institutions in North America to drive Wise Platform partnerships to the next level.A Bit About the Role:This position is based in either our Austin HQ office or NYC office, working alongside the Commercial Director and team of Senior Business Development Managers for North America.

You will collaborate closely with the North America Regional team and Global Wise Platform teams across our offices worldwide. Additionally, you will work with cross-functional teams, including product management, compliance, legal, implementation, and engineering.As a senior member of our commercial team, you will own key opportunities with the largest banks and financial institutions. You will drive initiatives to expand Wise Platform’s capabilities and contribute to the growth of Wise’s infrastructure footprint in North America.What You’ll Do:

  • Build, close, and deliver a strong pipeline of banking partnerships in North America, driving product innovation, revenue, and volume growth for Wise.
  • Support the banking vertical team strategy for North America and globally.
  • Lead market analysis, identifying emerging trends, opportunities, and potential challenges to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Work on projects to improve our strategy and approach both regionally and globally, including helping to iterate our product roadmap, pricing strategies, and go-to-market efforts.
  • Represent Wise and Wise Platform at industry events and conferences as the spokesperson for our banking vertical.

Qualifications


About You:

  • 8+ years of experience in payments, focusing on international payments for banks and financial institutions in North America.
  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Proven ability to develop and implement business strategies that drive significant revenue growth with Tier 1 banks.
  • Industry Expertise and Network: Deep understanding of the financial services landscape, including regulatory frameworks, and a strong network within senior decision-makers at top banks.
  • Commercial and Technical Fluency: Skilled at negotiating complex commercial agreements and comfortable discussing APIs and payment infrastructure.
  • Customer-Centric and Solution-Oriented: Consultative sales approach with a focus on understanding client needs and delivering impactful solutions.
