Are you ready to be at the forefront of the clean energy revolution? MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Production Technician I to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution.
Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Technician I role at MetOx will operate specialized equipment that manufactures, processes, and packages high value quality product. Working in the clean HVAC controlled high tech manufacturing environment, the Production Technician I will use sophisticated control systems that are part of the equipment to dial in the recipe, monitor, and operate several pieces of automated equipment. The Production Technician I will develop skills and knowledge about how that equipment performs that will make them a key resource in minimizing any equipment disruption and a “go to” source of insight for engineers who are designing next generation equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production
- Inspecting facility & equipment
- Maintain areas in a clean condition including picking up/taking out trash, minor facility repairs, etc.
- Basic maintenance activities
- Work flexible hours and schedule to achieve manufacturing objectives
- Receiving of goods (including gas cylinder and dewar deliveries)
- Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture to ensure safety for the employee, public and environment
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR GED and technical course work
- 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment or mechanical support role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in applied science or relevant field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required
- Able to enter actions performed in tool or process history logs
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy
- Quickly and efficiently completes tasks
- Ability to use problem solving skills to diagnose and adjust company machinery to ensure maximum performance
- Can identify minor process deviations and brings issues to more senior members of work staff
- Will be required to serve on the Emergency Response Team
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required, manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque. The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.
