This role will be instrumental in driving the club’s social media presence and engaging our passionate fanbase across multiple platforms.The ideal candidate is a data-driven storyteller with a deep understanding of social media trends, best practices, and the unique nuances of the sports industry.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies: Aligned with overall marketing goals and objectives, create and implement innovative social media campaigns across all relevant platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Content Strategy & Creation: Lead the development, execution and distribution planning of engaging and high-quality social media content, including video, images, text, and live streams.
  • Platform Management & Optimization: Manage and optimize social media channels, including community building, engagement, and paid social media advertising.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of one Social Media Coordinator and one Social Media Content Creator and a Digital Media Seasonal, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with media production, content partnerships, creative, photography, marketing, and editorial teams to ensure seamless content integration and campaign execution.
  • YouTube Channel Strategy: Lead the strategy and curation of Atlanta United’s YouTube channel, focusing on viewership growth, audience engagement, and content monetization.
  • Revenue Generation: Support marketing efforts by identifying and developing social media-driven revenue opportunities, such as sponsorships, promotions, and merchandise sales.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Stay informed about the latest social media trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience managing and leading social media teams.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics and reporting tools.
  • Experience in the sports industry (preferred).
  • Passion for soccer and Atlanta United (a plus!).
