PlayOn is seeking a highly skilled Senior Growth Engineer to drive experimentation and innovation within our platform, accelerating user acquisition, retention, and engagement across NFHS Network and GoFan. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in data-driven environments, iterate quickly, and deliver measurable business impact. 
As a Senior Growth Engineer, you will lead and actively participate in the planning, implementation, and execution of growth experiments within PlayOn’s NFHS Network and GoFan products. Our Growth Engineers play a critical role in identifying and implementing high-impact growth initiatives across PlayOn’s platforms. You’ll rapidly prototype, ship experiments, and iterate based on insights. This role requires adaptability in a fast-changing environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively. You will collaborate seamlessly with multifunctional teams, applying a scientific and data-driven approach to deliver high-impact solutions.

Given the cross-functional nature of this role, strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as well as the confidence to proactively engage with product owners and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and drive initiatives forward.

IN THIS ROLE YOU CAN EXPECT TO...


  • Lead the design, development, and execution of rapid growth experiments, iterating quickly based on data insights to optimize conversion, retention, and engagement. 
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and business needs while maintaining attention to detail and a high standard of quality. 
  • Collaborate closely with product, marketing, data teams and other stakeholders to build scalable full-stack solutions that improve user acquisition and monetization. 
  • Develop within high-performance, cloud-native environments, using modern development frameworks and infrastructure best practices. 
  • Automate and optimize user flows to reduce friction in onboarding, checkout, and retention processes. 
  • Ensure best practices in software development, cloud architecture, and security, while maintaining a high velocity of experimentation. 

TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE, THESE ARE THE TALENTS YOU BRING ...


  • Full-Stack Development: Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and Ruby on Rails. Experience with React or Vue (bonus for Next.js or Nuxt). 
  • A/B Testing & Experimentation: Hands-on experience with LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or custom experimentation frameworks for rapid testing. 
  • Payments & Subscriptions: Experience working with Stripe or other payment processing systems is strongly preferred. 
  • Event-Driven Architecture & Analytics: Familiarity with Segment, Google Analytics, or Amplitude to track and analyze user behavior. 
  • Performance Optimization & SEO: Strong understanding of page speed, Core Web Vitals, and front-end performance tuning to improve retention and conversion. 
  • Cloud Scalability & Serverless: Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and other cloud-native architectures for high-scale experimentation. 
  • Database Management: Expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB 
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to work across teams, engage with product owners and stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward. 
  • Ability to Learn & Adapt: Comfortable working across multiple systems and learning new ecosystems quickly.
