Internet2 programs advance opportunities to convene, collaborate, and innovate.  Position Overview:Internet2 is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to support the NET+ program. This paid, hybrid-remote internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis within a dynamic and impactful environment.

The intern will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data, contributing directly to data-informed decision-making within the business unit. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations.Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to projects focused on improving data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Bring fresh perspectives and ideas to key projects.
  • Contribute to projects critical to the business unit's data-informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Perform manual data cleaning and validation to ensure data quality.
  • Assist with various data-related tasks as assigned.
  • Gain exposure to and potentially work with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as AI tools.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any relevant field, including but not limited to Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline or field.  
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data analysis concepts and tools.
  • Interest in cloud computing and AI.
  • Preferred locations: NYC metro area (NY, NJ, CT), DC/DMV metro area (DC, MD, VA), Research-Triangle Park, NC area, and Ann Arbor, MI. 
  • Remote candidates in other locations will be considered, minimal travel may be required.
  • Potential hybrid work approach for candidates in the preferred locations.

Internship Opportunities:

  • Paid internship: $20 per hour.
  • 10-15 hours per week.
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real-world business setting.

  • Work on projects that directly impact the NET+ program and its mission.
  • Develop skills in data cleaning, analysis, and reporting.
