Maryland Energy Advisors (MDEA) is a rapidly growing energy management company that serves some of the area’s largest businesses, including real estate owners, restaurants, and manufacturers. We provide consulting services for utilities across the United States, and we are looking for a candidate to support our team as a Service Provider Coordinator. The Service Provider Coordinator will be an individual contributor who will support commercial utility programs, working closely with our client’s implementation team to bring energy efficiency and bill savings to their customers through the EmPOWER Maryland programs.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer service oriented, and adept with Microsoft Office products. Strong communication skills are key.The Service Provider Coordinator will work closely with multiple small teams to manage the utility rebate program's relationships with their service provider community. A Service Provider Coordinator gains exposure to various types of energy efficiency projects and focuses on trade ally/service provider management, and other technical services for a utility energy efficiency program and their stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for developing program training and participation requirements, innovative reporting, conducting market research, and facilitating communications and coordination across a Commercial Trade Ally/Service Provider (TA) network throughout Maryland.
This position will provide an opportunity for you to apply your academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and build relevant market knowledge and consulting skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Service Provider registration queues for several Maryland utility programs.
- Coach and train Trade Allies and internal support team members on best practices, audit resolutions, and technical subject matter.
- Serve as a resource to the service provider community, helping manage simple IT Issues, answer common questions, and process incentive applications.
- Create and deliver Service Provider trainings for 100+ attendees; host and manage multiple webinar-based platforms; organize and provide metrics specific to training. Coordinate with the Marketing team around development of messaging and resources.
- Support the reporting team to assemble and provide reports, presentations, and database management using many MS Office programs and industry-specific software tools.
- Build and maintain relationships with Maryland trade allies, sub-contractors, and industry associations. There will also be opportunities to attend trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote and represent the program offerings.
- Stay abreast of industry news, updates, and trends.
- Frequent travel will be required to Baltimore-area and to Maryland's Eastern Shore. Occasional travel will also be required to Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Southern Maryland.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors’ degree from an accredited University or equivalent.
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and client service orientation. Ability to connect quickly with others and establish rapport.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Comfort with public speaking.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to regularly meet with stakeholders within the service territory for customer meetings and events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferably based In Maryland or the DC/Northen Virginia area.
- Work experience in energy and energy efficiency programs or related trade experience.
- Knowledge of or experience with the energy efficiency program market in Maryland.
- 1-3 years of experience working with commercial trade allies working on energy efficiency programs in Maryland or experience building relationships with trade allies in similar markets.
- Experience scheduling or managing training or other events.
- Experience working with or managing databases a plus.
- Bilingual in English and any other language is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- “Office” work is to be primarily conducted from home, however, travel to onsite locations is required for:
- Customer meetings in your utility’s assigned service area.
- Client meetings as needed or directed.
- Friendly, fun, cooperative, and very fast-paced. Staff members need to be able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
