Job Title: Global Systems Safety Engineer
Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Job Description
The role requires system safety engineering experience with responsibilities including integrating product lines, generating capability specifications, training less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniques, reviewing technical products, and interfacing with team members and management for high-quality output within resource constraints.
Must have an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance
Required Education/Experience:
- An advanced degree and 3+ years experience OR bachelors with 5+ years' experience or equivalent; wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions.
Required Skills:
- - Should possess System Engineering background with specialization in System and Software Safety
- Experience analyzing design to ensure safety requirements are met
- Ability to apply engineering principles to analyze and recommend design features that meet safety criteria in system design to control or eliminate hazards
- Experience developing safety documents to support customer and test requirements (SAR, SRA, SSPP)
- Experience with hazard identification
- Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups
- Must possess knowledge of MIL-STD-882E
Desired Skills:
In addition to the required skill list above, the ideal candidate will have some level of familiarity with the following:
- Integration of the product lines
- Generation of responsible sections of the capability specifications
- Training less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniques
- Reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis"
