Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, energetic, and experienced IT Manager to lead our IT department. The IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's information technology needs, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems, networks, software, and hardware. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to align IT initiatives with overall business objectives.The position will work with the Chief Technology Officer along with corporate leadership to identify and implement IT strategies and practices that will support the success of our consultants.
This position will lead the IT department, which is currently comprised of 4 IT professionals, along with some outsourced services. The current IT professionals are located in Florida, Cincinnati, OH, Durham, NC and Denver, CO and the corporate leadership is based in the home office in Charlotte, NC. The company’s overall workforce is comprised of approximately 220 employees who work in approximately 15 locations (some offices, some co-working spaces) or remotely across the country and many of whom travel frequently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including recruitment, training, performance coaching, and development.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and security of IT systems.
- Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and financial efficiency.
- Provide high-level support and guidance to IT staff and other departments, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company data and systems while remaining compliant with industry standards and regulations.
- Organize, assign, and manage projects within the IT team.
- Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
- Facilitate IT security audits and investigations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Assist staff in our corporate office with IT needs.
- Create and manage technology plans.
- Direct the configuration and maintenance of the company SharePoint sites.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in IT management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and projects
- Proficient in the latest technology for IT systems and management
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a hybrid environment across multiple office locations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Windows Server, Windows 10 and 11, SharePoint, Office365, networking, user management, and general computer environment troubleshooting
- Expertise in data center management and data governance
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation/approval
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
- Cybersecurity awareness
- Ability to travel up to once per quarter (depending on need/projects)
Preferences:
- Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint, and ArcGIS.
- Cybersecurity expertise
- Exposure to the consulting business

The salary range for the IT Manager position is $100k to $120k. Compensation depends on education, experience, and location. Employees in the position of IT Manager may be eligible for an annual performance bonus, depending on the firm’s yearly performance and the performance of the employee. Such bonuses are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of the firm.
