Painter Blaster V


 ReconCraft is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter Blaster V   to work with our coatings division to blast parts and apply coatings systems as required to meet contractual specifications and company objectives.

 Job Functions:


  • Stage parts and assemblies for blasting processes
  • Prepare and setup of necessary tools and equipment for blasting processes
  • Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters
  • Sand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats
  • Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings
  • Mask designated surface areas with tape or paper to protect them from paint
  • Fill small dents or scratches with fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting
  • Lay out logos, symbols, or designs on painted surfaces, according to blueprint specifications, using measuring instruments, stencils, or patterns
  • Set up portable equipment, such as ventilators, exhaust units, ladders, or scaffolding
  • Operate lifting and moving devices to move equipment or materials so that areas to be painted are accessible
  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and quality is required
  • Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders
  • Receive and carry out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
  • Must be able to read, understand and execute Work Orders to exacting specifications
  • Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function
  • Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
  • Knowledge and use of common hand tools
  • Performs on the job training for Project Certifications, ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP training, and other training as required
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Train other personnel to ensure redundancy and to mitigate schedule delays

Job Requirements:


  • Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
  • High School Diploma (GED)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, understanding drawing symbols read flag notes and general notes
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Read travelers and standard procedures
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environment

Work Experience 


  • 10+ years’ experience in the blast and coatings field, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretcg
  • Ability to work long hours when required to meet deadlines and other deliverables
