Industrial Painter II Overview


Since Frontier technologies acts as a job shop, Industrial Painters perform various tasks. We are looking for mechanically inclined, problem solvers to join our team. Common projects include:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Industrial Painters I and II, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
  • Train new Industrial Painters through on-the-job training (OJT), job safety analyses (JSAs), and by adhering to established policies and procedures for internal purposes and customer requirements. Work alongside the team to maximize production.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews. Manage employee timecards, attendance, disciplinary actions.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers utilizing Microsoft Office and ERP systems, ensuring seamless coordination across departments in Frontier Technologies.
  • Troubleshoot work assignments and projects in order to accurately deliver products per customer needs.
  • Optimize production schedule to meet on time delivery dates for projects.
  • Travel to customer facilities to perform onsite painting, identify and solve customer problems, and provide technical support. Communicate professionally with customers via email, phone calls, Teams meetings, and in person to facilitate production and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare tools and equipment for each project.
  • Blast and paint material to work instructions according to the customer requirements.
  • Inspect customer parts to meet customer expectations and job instructions.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Measure and mix multiple component paints to RAO color chart.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Manage inventory and order materials when needed.
  • Create work instructions and ensure validity of process.

  • Assist Industrial Painters I and II in daily production.
  • Partner with the Engineering Department to design and implement solutions.
  • Assist Services Department in projects, including basic mechanical installations, maintenance operations, preventative maintenance, and upgrades on production.
  • Work with Quality Department to ensure specifications and ISO 9001 requirements are met.
  • Moving material throughout the facility via forklifts, pallet jacks and overhead cranes.
  • Measure and optimize daily throughput.
  • Follow Company Policies and Procedures as well as OSHA Guidelines, and use proper PPE.
  • Ensure the proper tools and necessary equipment are available and in good condition to perform the required work.
  • Follow work instructions throughout the process, completing assigned tasks for projects following customer, engineering and SDS specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Ability to work Overtime on a very short notice to meet customer demand.
  • Other job duties as directed by Site Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications


  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Able to read and interpret work instructions
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Perform basic and advanced Math skills
  • Able to accurately read/use a tape measure
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to identify and operated basic hand tools and small power tools
  • Passion for doing a job well
  • A “self-motivated” team player
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Able to work effectively in South Alabama climate conditions
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
  • Pass visual test
  • Able to travel to customer sites
  • Must be an insurable driver
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
