Job Title: Mechanic II
Job Summary:
The Mechanic II is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas extraction and processing. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and Diagnose: Inspect and diagnose faults in oil and gas machinery and equipment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
- Repair: Repair or replace defective parts and components.
- Testing: Test machinery to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Documentation: Document all repair and maintenance work for record-keeping.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out repairs as quickly as possible.
- Collaboration: Work with other team members to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols to minimize risks.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice on the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Parts Management: Order replacement parts and equipment as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications or technical training in mechanical systems.
Work Environment:
- Often work in challenging environments, including outdoor sites and potentially hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to handle physical demands such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
