Clinical Coordinator - SouthPark Dermatology
General Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing daily operations of department to include coordinating administrative tasks, and acting as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality patient care delivery.(This is a full time position that will support the Dermatology team at Southpark Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Previous Dermatology experience is REQUIRED)
Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks may include, but not limited to:
- Manage biologic therapies for patients to include prior authorizations, update patients regarding medication approvals and denials and monitor patients’ therapy continuation and adherence to treatment regimes.
- Collect, record and review pathology reports on the Cancer Registry.
- Maintaining equipment and injectable drug supply orders including organizing, unpacking, and discarding expired medications.
- Checking on exam room status at the beginning and end of each day so that they are ready for clinic including the stocking of cabinets and drawers.
- Facilitating expedient exam room turnover between patients including table paper changing and gown replacement so that “dirty” rooms are not visible to incoming patients during clinic.
- Requesting and organizing prescription and non-prescription samples to keep supplies adequate.
- Training new hires to work on both EMR systems, as well as instructing in dermatology terminology, procedure set ups, instrument care, procedure assistance, and ordering prescriptions using refill protocols written by MDs.
- Uploading of closed clinic notes from EMA to Athena by the end of clinic or within 24 hours of the visit if the physician has had to delay closing the note.
- Alerting the physician that notes need closing in EMA if not done by the day after the clinic visit.
- Overseeing daily workflow of clinic, delegating tasks to MAs as time and ability allows, and intervening when needed as problems arise including filling in for absent staff members.
- Taking initiative and responsibility to address any detail of clinical flow needed to maximize the support of the physicians so that the patient experience is excellent.

Education, Experience and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Dermatology experience required.
- EMA experience preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Clinical Coordinator or similar role preferred.
- Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Excellent customer service, computer, communication skills required.
- Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
- Completion of TB test will be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
- Ability to concentrate on details.
- Use of computer for long periods of time.
