As a Senior Android Engineer at Reverb, you will be responsible for fully collaborating with product managers, user experience designers and your fellow engineers on product feature development. Our team is inclusive of all ideas - bring your vision to the group! We measure success in the value we create for both sides of our marketplace - our job is to make using Reverb the absolute best place to buy and sell gear. For this role, we are considering candidates based in Mexico City with the option for both office based and remote work arrangements. If your role evolves to carry out work for Etsy, adherence to Etsy work modes and workplace safety policies here may be necessary.While this role will initially support Reverb, this role may support Etsy.com in the future.
About Android @ Reverb:
Our app is native, with more than 90% written in Kotlin. GraphQL is our main networking layer, and we use it extensively. To allow us to ship continuously (every 1 to 2 weeks), we strongly believe in testing and automation, leveraging CircleCI. To build confidence in features, we heavily rely on feature flags, A/B testing, and measuring.
What does the day-to-day look like?
- Taking loosely scoped projects and collaborating with additional engineers, designers and product managers on execution.
- Pairing, mentoring and learning from friendly and talented engineers
- Author architecture reviews and make architectural decisions.
- Quantifying results through experimentation at a scale
- Identifying tech debt and refactoring opportunities

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
We ask that candidates express interest in Reverb's mission, prepare to work on a collaborative team, and adopt a growth mentality. We also ask that you have at least 4 years of Android experience, outside of learning environments, working on apps with networking. We use and would greatly appreciate you having knowledge of the some of the following:
