Job Summary: 


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Claims Processor to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals interested in starting a career in the insurance or healthcare claims industry. The successful candidate will manage and process incoming claims, maintain accurate documentation, and support the claims team with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:


Download & Organize Claims:


  • Retrieve incoming claims from emails and fax systems.
  • Accurately sort, label, and file all digital claims for efficient processing.
  • Scan and upload physical claims into the company’s system, ensuring proper categorization and record-keeping.

Mail & Correspondence Management:


  • Prepare and send outgoing correspondence, including claim responses and notifications.
  • Track and document outgoing mail for internal records. 

Maintain Claims Downloading Process:


  • Ensure all claims are consistently downloaded from designated sources promptly.
  • Monitor systems to prevent delays or errors in claim retrieval.
  • Report technical issues or discrepancies to management promptly for resolution.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with scanners, fax machines, and general office equipment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience in a healthcare or insurance claims environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of claims processing systems or document management software.

Working Conditions:


  • Office environment with standard business hours.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use office equipment for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of files or office supplies (up to 25 lbs).
