Summary:


The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) at Baylor Genetics will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between lab operations and information technology by analyzing, defining, and documenting requirements and processes to facilitate effective IT solutions. This role involves leveraging an understanding of lab operation processes, along with strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and drive technology initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional).

Experience: 2+ years as a Systems/Business Analyst or similar role

Skills:


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with business process modeling, workflows, and system integrations.
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, and reporting tools.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of API integrations, database structures, and automation tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, CLIA) and security best practices.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Lab workflows
  • Revenue Cycle Management
  • Bio Informatics
  • LIS Reporting
  • Online Ordering Platform
  • Order Management

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to determine viable solutions.
  • Document business processes, workflows, and system functionalities.
  • System Design & Implementation:
  • Work with developers and IT teams to design and implement solutions that enhance business operations.
  • Create system models, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Test new systems, troubleshoot issues, and validate that requirements are met.
  • Project Management & Support:
  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.
  • Support project planning, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Train end-users on new systems and processes.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze data trends to inform business decisions.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics for performance tracking.
