We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to mentor our QA team, enhance their skills, and oversee their personal development. The role involves managing open vulnerabilities with FNF QA/Security, coordinating annual in-house penetration testing, and strategizing with tech and product leadership to leverage the QA team's strengths. Additionally, you will coordinate QA engineers to enable development teams to take ownership of their testing needs. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in Software Engineering or QA testing, a proven ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop quality acceptance criteria and test plans, a deep understanding of testing practices, thorough knowledge of security standards, and considerable knowledge of application development methodologies and SDLC. Strong organizational or project management skills and prior leadership experience are highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Mentoring of the QA team. Whether general skill improvement, personal development plans, or automation skills - making sure the QA team has opportunities to continue to improve.
- Working with FNF QA/Security on open vulnerabilities. This would mainly be assigning out to the correct dev teams (usually CRM), communicating priority, updating statuses in the FNF tools, and working with FNF QA for closure (retests, access to do so, etc).
- Working with FNF on annual in-house penetration testing. This would mainly be coordinating with them to have the access they need and that test environments are ready for them.
- Participating with developers and Tech X on the triage and routing of reporting bugs or data repairs.
- Strategizing with tech and product leadership to look for ways to best leverage the strengths of our QA team.
- Coordinating QA engineers to properly enable development teams to take ownership of their testing needs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years related experience in Software Engineering or QA testing of large software systems
- Proven ability to work both with product and engineering to develop high quality acceptance criteria and test plans
- Deep understanding of manual, integration and automation testing practices and strategies
- Thorough knowledge of security standards and methods to build test plans around them
- Considerable knowledge of the basic principles, processes, phases and roles of application development methodologies and software development life cycles (SDLC)
- Demonstrated organizational or project management skills
- Prior leadership experience is a plus
