Job Summary:
As a Senior UI Engineer at Mercer Advisors, you will play a critical role on an agile, fast-paced, cross-functional team to deliver on aggressive growth goals for the business. You will not only be responsible for the development of tools, widgets, assets, and experiences on MercerAdvisors.com, but you will also own the scalability, longevity, “health”, and performance of the firm’s #1 digital lead generating asset. If you excel in the timely delivery of projects, thrive in a constant problem-solving environment, and can guide a team thru technical implementation strategy conversations, this is the position for you.You should be able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and demonstrate a consistent track record of delivery, as well as exemplify excellent software engineering skills.
You bring creative engineering balanced with high quality and a customer focus. You have a strong analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Experience functioning as an engineer in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Adept at developing front-end portals, and back-end console development.
- Proficiency in gathering requirements from the business, creating a backlog, and prioritizing new features.
- Responsible for configuring, coding, testing, debugging, and creating technical documentation.
- Technical knowledge and responsibility of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.
- Experience navigating Third Party Vendor relationships.
- Ability to understand the business or function for which the application is designed and intuit how changes in the product will drive business growth.
- Comfort with collaboration, including instructing, directing, and checking the work of other technical team members.
- Experience with programming languages and databases.
- Experience building scoped applications.
Required Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with releasing corporate websites using the following technical stack
- Programming Languages
- HTML
- CSS (Expert level)
- PHP (Advanced Level)
- JavaScript (Advanced level)
- Platforms
- WordPress (Guttenberg Editor)
- WPEngine
- Elementor (plugin)
- Adobe Experience Manager (specifically Adobe Target and Adobe Analytics)
- Salesforce (APIs) is a plus
- Skills
- Technical SEO
- Agile development methodologies
- Understanding of software architecture principles
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of at least one web development programming language like Wordpress, Typescript, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with OOP design principles
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
- Ability to perform in a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and follow technical plans
- Authorization to work in the United States (required by the federal government for this position).
Working Conditions:
Professional office environment, daytime hours, working inside, standing, and sitting, will be assigned to a workstation.
