Executive Summary
Defined.ai is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Specialist to drive the expansion of our data partner ecosystem. This role is pivotal in sourcing and securing strategic data partnerships that fuel our AI data platform. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in business development, tech sales, or any other relevant field, with a proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing partnership deals within the data, technology, or AI sectors.
This individual will be instrumental in identifying new data sources, building strong partner relationships, and contributing to the growth of Defined.ai's data capabilities.
Your main tasks will be:
As a Business Development Specialist, Data Partnerships, you will be instrumental in expanding our data ecosystem by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new data partners. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Partner Identification: Research and identify potential data partners (e.g., data providers, marketplaces, research institutions, and specialized data companies) that align with Defined.ai's data needs, strategic goals, and overall AI industry trends.
- Relationship Building & Negotiation: Initiate and cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers at target partner organizations.
- Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust pipeline of potential data partners, tracking progress and reporting on key metrics.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging data sources.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, sales, procurement and legal teams to ensure seamless integration of new data partners and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Presentations and Proposals: Create and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential partners, showcasing the value proposition of collaborating with Defined.ai.
- Attend Industry Events: Represent Defined.ai at industry conferences and events to network with potential partners and stay abreast of market developments.
- Contract Lifecycle Management: Participate in the contract lifecycle, from initial draft, through negotiations, and through contract execution.

Our Business Development Representative would have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, preferably within the data, technology, or AI industry.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and closing partnership deals.
- Strong understanding of data acquisition, data licensing, and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is highly desirable.
- Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Ability to travel as required.
