Global Physical Security Operations Manager, Physical Security - Reston, VA


Why We Have This Role


We are looking for a manager to establish, lead, and scale our Physical Security operations. We are responsible for protecting our people, our assets, and our brand. Reporting to the Head of Global Physical Security, you will work cross-functionally across the company to mitigate physical security risk across all systems and supporting business objectives.   • Leadership Excellence: Drive innovation and champion security-first decision-making across the organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: Anticipate threats, proactively develop mitigation plans, and influence company-wide security policies and buy in.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of physical security threat modeling and intelligence.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, and external partners.
  • Vendor Management: Source and manage third party vendors to support executive protection and travel security. Prioritize consistency and clear standards across a global landscape.

How You’ll Grow


  • Industry Influence: Participate in leading security conferences, shape industry standards, and position Qualtrics as a thought leader.
  • Technological Integration: Participate in the overall integration of an Enterprise-wide Physical Security Technology Stack. 
  • Training and Development Plan: Develop and Deploy training and awareness programs for Qualtrics and directly shape the future of Security Awareness within Physical Security.

Things You’ll Do


  • Assist in developing and deploying a strategic vision for enterprise security risk management at Qualtrics to include physical security operations, due diligence, travel security, risk management, emergency preparedness, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery, executive protection, and security awareness and education.
  • Assist in the development of physical security programs, taking into consideration security policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and operational systems through the business lens to provide the level of protection needed to support business objectives.
  • Be a valuable contributor to strategic planning and/or policy development at a leadership level.
  • Assist in domestic and international staffing; identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, reputational, and personal risk.
  • Through the physical security team, coordinate and implement domestic and international site security, operations, and activity to ensure the protection of executives, managers, employees, and physical and information assets, while ensuring the optimal use of personnel and equipment.
  • Understand strategic and operational information, analyze and investigate it to anticipate, influence, and assist Qualtrics in its ability to assess and rapidly adapt to changing conditions smoothly, with minimum risk and disruption.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with high level law enforcement counterparts
  • Assist in the hiring, coaching, and growing of a diverse team of professionals with differing perspectives, ideas, and experiences.
  • Promote a culture of distributed leadership, ownership, and consistently empower your team, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and orientation toward successful staff development.
  • Bring a highly risk averse mindset to your work and seek to balance that against business constraints and competing priorities & objectives.
  • Communicate clearly and in a compelling manner, from C-level to individual contributor, to champion sound and sustainable security practices throughout the entire company.
  • Promote the importance of security awareness to establish a culture of security.

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing both managers and individual contributors in a high growth security operations team.
  • A minimum of 10 years of physical security experience with a history in a leadership position.
  • Project Management skills. You have experience with high profile/high visibility projects.
  • Ability to manage emergencies with level-headedness.
  • Crisis and incident management training.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of empathy and the ability to successfully advocate for your team.
