POSITION SUMMARY


We are seeking a reliable Facility Manager to join the eGenesis Operations Team and lead all operational activities including building and equipment maintenance, precision equipment calibration, and site planning. This position requires occasional evening and weekend alarm response or maintenance work. This is a fully onsite position, and you will be working in a variety of environments, including animal housing areas, lab areas, storage sheds, and outdoors. The right individual must be detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team and individually.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform general maintenance, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and buildings
  • Monitor building management system and respond to alarms
  • Use and keep CMMS updated including: scheduled work, complete workorders, update records, input new equipment
  • Maintain gas supply and change gas tanks
  • Act as facility representative with service providers and contractors for mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance
  • Occasionally participate in moving of swine between buildings as needed
  • Conduct safety inspections of responsible areas, follow safe work practices, correct unsafe acts and conditions
  • Adhere to eGenesis biosecurity requirements
  • Other site activities may include carcass removal, loading/unloading bagged feed and supplies, and coordinating deliveries for the site
  • Willingness to jump in to lend a hand when needed including tasks far outside facilities role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • Strong understanding of facility maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems
  • Experience with hand and power tools is required
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams and Slack
  • Comfortable with frequent task switching and shifting priorities
  • Must not have any other interaction with pigs outside of the company
  • Ability to lift objects up to 60 pounds
  • Experience with farms, swine and heavy equipment a plus, but not required
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in different environments, including shop, office, and animal husbandry environments in varying weather conditions. This position requires physical demands such as climbing, stooping, crouching, sitting on equipment such as lawnmowers and tractors for extended periods, and handling/moving swine throughout the facilities. Employees are regularly expected to lift objects 30-60lbs multiple times throughout the day.
