POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Door Ambassador (Door Security Guard) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and merchandise at our NYC SoHo store. Acting as the first point of contact, they create a welcoming yet vigilant presence at the store entrance, preventing shrink, deterring potential theft, and reinforcing loss prevention measures. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a visible deterrent to potential theft and loss prevention risks at the store entrance.Work closely with store leadership and local authorities (if necessary) to ensure a secure and compliant retail environment.Respond to security incidents professionally, following NY State Security Guard guidelines and company policies.Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage tense situations while maintaining a safe and positive shopping environment.Assist store associates in employee training on approved loss prevention practices.Conduct bag checks for all Princess Polly Retail and HQ associates in accordance with company policies and NY security regulations.Support a positive store culture by acting with integrity and professionalism in all interactions.Maintain a strong customer-first approach while upholding security responsibilities.Serve as a designated safety responder in case of emergencies, ensuring the well-being of customers and employees.Maintain a valid First Aid and CPR certification to provide immediate assistance in medical emergencies.
COMMERCIAL AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1+ years of loss prevention or security experience in a retail setting preferred.Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License or be willing to obtain one prior to starting, in compliance with state regulations for security personnel conducting bag checks and loss prevention activities.Must hold a valid First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to obtain certification prior to starting, as this role serves as a designated safety responder in emergency situations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to de-escalate situations effectively.Ability to evaluate circumstances and make quick decisions in alignment with company guidelines.Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.Reliable transportation and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Must align with Princess Polly’s company values, including customer obsession, innovation, ownership, and respect.Salary Banding: $20/hr$20 - $20 an hourApply for this job
