What is this role?


As the Senior Product Manager for Tax, you’ll develop and execute our product strategy for all things tax. As a merchant of record, we are required to do taxes for all types of businesses. You aren’t necessarily a tax expert, we have those, but you are someone who understands how to break down problems, understand customer pain points and create a roadmap that adds value to our customers as well as our company. You understand how to work with different departments to make sure we’re building the right things, talking about them in the right ways and that they’re performing the way you expect.

You have a high level of ownership and want to be given big complicated problems to break down and fix. You’re less interested in being micromanaged - and want to see a solution through from ideation to rollout.

What are your responsibilities?


● Shape the Tax Vision: Define our tax product strategy, staying ahead of competitors and anticipating customer needs in the Merchant of Record space. ● Be Customer-Centric: Gather insights from merchants and internal teams to maintain a deep understanding of our tax product's performance. ● Drive Growth: Align product strategy with business goals, developing a roadmap and backlog that scales with our ambitious objectives.

Clearly communicate product vision and rationale to the company. ● Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage our extensive data resources to inform product decisions, ensuring a quantifiable approach. ● Elevate User Experience: Prioritize user experience, even for "behind-the-scenes" products, recognizing the impact of every interaction. ● Optimize Development: Work directly with development leads to focus development efforts on building repeatable, reliable, and scalable solutions that maximize ROI. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration. ● Become the Reach Tax Expert: Master our tax platform's functionality, understanding its impact on various internal teams and customer workflows. ● Evaluate Technology: Assess market tooling to determine build vs. leverage strategies. ● Expand Market Reach: Working closely with the Revenue team, identify new market opportunities with specific tax requirements and explore strategic partnerships. ● Ensure Regulatory Compliance: You’ll work in lockstep with our internal tax experts to make sure that our system is performing as regulations require.

Requirements


● 5+ years of experience in Product Management ● Experience with B2B integrations (webhooks, APIs, datashares, etc) ● Prior experience in B2B, payments, MOR or finance would be an asset ● Ability to break down complex problems into their basic parts ● Have a high level of ownership. You will be given outcomes, not tasks
