- Planning, coordinating, and completing inspections, as directed
- Evaluating property and operational risks, focusing on fire protection, safety, security, housekeeping and maintenance, and compliance with industry standards
- Developing detailed reports with recommendations for loss prevention and risk mitigation tailored to the insureds’ operations
- Collaborating with clients to implement risk reduction strategies and monitor progress
- When unable to attend the site, coordinating with independent contractors to attend and share generated reports with Brokers/Sub-brokers
- Obtaining recommendation responses from brokers/sub-brokers to monitor adherence, reviewing all responses received and following up as needed
- Maintaining records of reports and responses
- Assisting in the development and improvement of Loss Prevention-related underwriting forms, materials, videos, training etc.
- Providing technical support to brokers and underwriters regarding risk improvement opportunities
- Staying informed of industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging risks
- Delivering training and education materials on loss prevention best practices to clients and internal teams
- Acting as liaison between insurers, clients and broker to address risk-related concerns and foster strong relationships
- Assisting in the training of Loss Prevention and Underwriting staff
- Assisting with translation of various underwriting and Loss Prevention documents
- Supporting Underwriting team in marketing and promotion-related activities, as needed.

Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational health & safety, fire protection or a related field
- Professional designation or certifications such as P.Eng., CRSP, CFPS, or CRM/ARM is strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in risk engineering, loss prevention or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, fire protection systems, and safety regulations in Canada
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required
- Bilingual (English/French)
