About the role


As Two Chairs continues to grow, the Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are valued. You will have ownership over the entire Accounts Payable (AP) processes and support the Senior Accountant with key month-end close tasks, financial reporting, and compliance activities. Core Areas of Responsibility


Accounts Payable 


  • Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments
  • Ensure proper coding of expenses to the correct accounts and projects in the general ledger
  • Assist with employee expense reimbursements and ensure accurate billing of travel expenses
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand vendor agreements and customer contracts to ensure appropriate vendor set up
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through automation and/or efficiency initiatives

Month End Close and General Ledger Support   


  • Assist in preparing general journal entries and accruals
  • Reconcile expense and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain fixed asset amortization schedules and balance the fixed asset ledger to the general ledger
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly close adjustments and accruals

Financial Reporting and Compliance


  • Assist in financial reporting and variance analysis by collaborating with finance leaders and department heads
  • Prepare supporting schedules for external audit
  • Support internal controls by developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies

Ad hoc projects


  • Assist in the implementation of new ERP 
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through automation and/or efficiency initiatives

Impact and Success Indicators 


Where you’ll make an impact in the first 90 days:


  • Take full ownership of Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Successfully reconcile expense and balance sheet accounts during month-end close
  • Gain proficiency in company accounting systems (NetSuite, Ramp)

Where you’ll make an impact in the first year:


  • Streamline AP processes, reducing processing time and improving accuracy while implementing robust internal controls to prevent fraudulent transactions and ensure expense reimbursements comply with company policy. This includes enforcing proper approval workflows, documentation requirements, and periodic audits to maintain financial integrity. 
  • Contribute to audit and compliance initiatives, ensuring financial accuracy and adherence to company policies
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for automation and efficiency gains

We’re looking for someone with:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ years of experience in accounting or audit
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting theory
  • Proficiency in Excel and G-Suite tools
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and Ramp preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a sense of accountability in your work
  • Passion for mental health
  • Desire to work in a high-growth and mission-driven start-up environment

Compensation & Benefits


The salary range for this full-time, exempt role is $84,000 -  $113,700. The final offer is dependent on qualifications and experience. New hires can reasonably expect an offer between $84,000 and $98,000.
