ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Oberto team has an opening for the critical position of Product Inspector for our 3rd shift. The Product Inspector is responsible conducting in line quality checks support to the ready to eat processing lines. This role monitors the quality of WIP to ensure consistent and safe products that meet company specifications are supplied to our customers.SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift - 5 days, 8 hours per shift, occasional overtime up to 12-hours a day as needed.WAGE: $19.00 per hour, with $1.00 per hour shift differential pay for working 2nd shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform verification checks on the metal detector.
- Gather random samples and perform MPR (moisture protein ratio), AW (water activity) and PH (acidity/alkalinity) analysis in accordance with written procedures.
- Release product based on the results of MPR, AW and PH samples.
- Ensure sanitary handling procedures in all activities.
- Inform Management of any Food Safety/Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months processing experience preferred.
- 6 months quality control experience preferred.
- Pallet jack experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This employee regularly works with hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment. This employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
- Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
