ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Oberto team has an opening for the critical position of Janitor on 2nd shift. The 2nd shift Janitor is responsible for performing custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors and exteriors to ensure the cleanliness of employee work areas.
SCHEDULE:
2nd Shift 5 days, 8-hour shift with occasional overtime.
WAGE:
Hourly range for this position is $18.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential pay for working 2nd shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service, cleaning, and supply restrooms.
- Gather and empty trash inside and outside of the facility.
- Clean building floors by sweeping mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, or vacuuming.
- Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months janitorial experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work environment is that of a processing environment. This employee regularly works with hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment. This employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
- Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
