JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency to ensure personnel receive the correct compensation, strong knowledge of accounting principles, able to handle sensitive information in accordance with applicable laws, and experience with ADP Workforce Now.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Collect and summarize timekeeping information.•Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies.•Process garnishment requests.•Process employee advances and paybacks.•Process employment verifications.•Compiles various reports for management and supervisors.•Prepares and reports 401K.•Prepares manual paychecks.•Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts.•Assists accounts payable and receivables in creation and posting of transactions.•Process employee requests regarding payroll direct deposits, W-4 changes, & W-2 requests. •Sorting & distribution of live checks / pay stubs.•Prepare and deliver training to supervisors and other ADP users•Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.•Knowledge of principles and practices for providing excellent customer service.•ADP Workforce Now payroll and reporting experience.•Experience with an accounting software package.•Proficient in Microsoft Office products.•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. •Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. •Ability to self-motivate and perform functions independently.•Ten-key by touch.•Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment, particularly those persons with disabilities•Attention to detail•Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and variety in the workplace•Accepting of constructive criticism•Works well in stressful situations•Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges•Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities•Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles•Team oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We have three lines of business; Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, and Business Solutions, that operate in 3 locations. Salary Range: $21.00-$28.00
