SUMMARY
The
Designer/Drafter
Intern works under the direction of the Engineering Manager to provide shop-ready detailed drawings from assembly layouts. This internship offers responsibilities related to designing and drafting new products or sustaining engineering of existing products as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Collaborate with Designers to generate electrical and mechanical drawing packages (schematics + assembly) using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical ECAD design software.
- Modify existing electrical drawing packages (schematics + assembly) and create new designs using AutoCAD and/or EPLAN electrical design software.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic understanding of general engineering principles.
- Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
- Ability to carry out tasks successfully with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated capacity for innovative and creative thinking.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data appropriately.
- Ability to work part-time as an intern.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Currently pursuing education in Designing and Drafting; training will be provided.
