Hardware Lab Technician, Customer Success

The Customer Success team is looking for an experienced Hardware Technician / Lab Manager to support our development activities in our Santa Clara lab. You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians as the team develops, deploys, and supports Tenstorrent boards and systems.This role ison-site, based out of Santa Clara, CA.We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform failure analysis on customer-returned hardware
  • Set up and maintain competitive benchmarking environments
  • Build and configure test systems for customer issue reproduction
  • Computer system assembly, teardown, and component-level troubleshooting
  • Rework of systems and boards including motherboard and PCIe card replacement
  • PCB assembly and rework down to the component level
  • Execute validation testing on field returns and repaired units
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters)
  • Manage lab inventory and order supplies/components as needed
  • Maintain equipment calibration records and system configuration documentation
  • Organize and maintain a clean, efficient lab environment
  • Document failure analysis findings and repair procedures
  • Support customer escalations with hardware expertise

Experience & Qualifications:


  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Computer Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience with computer components and system assembly
  • Proficiency with standard lab equipment (multimeters, soldering stations, oscilloscopes)
  • Experience with PCB rework and component-level repairs
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems is a plus
  • Experience with AI accelerator hardware or GPUs is an asset
  • Background in customer support or RMA processing preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets.
