This internship will be based out of our Headquarters located in downtown Austin, TX and offers a flexible work schedule of 30-40 hours per week.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment and receive mentorship from experienced accounting and finance professionals while supporting projects and accounting activities. Successful completion of an internship with Asure will provide potential for future employment opportunities after graduation.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly reconciliations of revenue, expenses, and cash transactions
- Support the billing and revenue recognition process for subscription-based HR software and services
- Help manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy in vendor and client payments
- Prepare journal entries and assist in financial statement preparation in compliance with GAAP
- Analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 (SaaS revenue rules)
- Work with the Finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with compliance, audits, and tax-related projects
- Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects that impact the business
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and reconciliations
- Interest in the Human Capital Management industry and supporting a Publicly-Traded organization
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.); experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or other accounting software is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment
- Passion for HR Tech and financial processes supporting workforce management solutions
