About the Role:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Investor Relations Associate to join our team. This role is pivotal in communicating financial performance, business health to our investors, and supporting strategic financial initiatives such as fundraising, exit planning, and IPO preparation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial reporting, business analysis, strategic communication, big data analysis, and financial structuring. In this role, you will handle investor reporting and regular performance tracking of the group and portfolio companies.

Job Description:


  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly investor reports from management accounts, ensuring accuracy, and tailoring reports to meet investor needs. This includes analyzing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and equity statements and providing appropriate commentary
  • Subsidiary Reporting and Performance Tracking: Develop and maintain advanced operating and performance trackers for subsidiaries and group companies, integrating budget comparisons to track and analyze performance trends and variances. Work closely with subsidiary management teams to ensure accurate and timely data reporting.
  • Business Health and Operating Metrics: Compile and analyze key business and subsidiary metrics, leveraging big data analytics to provide insights into operating performance, project outcomes, customer acquisition costs etc
  • Industry Landscaping: Providing thought leadership and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and competitive landscapes to ensure the company's strategic initiatives stay innovative and relevant
  • Fundraising and Financial Structuring: Lead the preparation of fundraising decks for equity or debt financing, working closely with financial advisors and management to present a compelling case to potential investors or lenders. Participate in negotiations and structuring deals to secure optimal financing terms.
  • Exit Planning and IPO Preparation: Assist in developing and executing strategies for M&A, exit planning, including IPO readiness assessments, and coordinate with legal and financial advisors for the preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Quarterly and Annual Reporting: Lead the development and presentation of detailed quarterly and annual reports that highlight the company’s financial position, operational performance, strategic initiatives, and subsidiary performance.
  • Board Presentations: Prepare compelling presentations for the Board of Directors, offering insights into financial performance, strategic achievements, future growth opportunities, and subsidiary performance.
  • Investor Relations: Serve as a key point of contact for investors, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and maintaining open lines of communication. Ensure that all reporting is compliant with regulatory standards and investor expectations.
  • Strategic Analysis: Conduct regular market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and industry trends review to inform strategic decision-making and investor communications, with a focus on both the parent company and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is highly advantageous
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial reporting, investor relations, or a similar role in growth, strategy, business development, or VC/PE investments firm
  • Specific experience in fundraising, exit planning, and/or IPO preparation is advantageous but not required
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, reporting, and big data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling investment cases and understand financial structuring for equity and debt financing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear and concise reports for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Technology background and prior experience in a consulting firm, VC, private equity firm, investment bank, or a related role in a startup a plus
  • Work well under pressure, with a high degree of dependability, adaptability, and flexibility
