Join the leadership team at SunSource, one of the country’s largest and most successful fluid power distributors. We are currently seeking a District Sales Manager for our Service and Repair Business Unit. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, you will develop market penetration strategies and manage Account Managers to meet critical sales objectives. While managing sales operations for the specific district, you will also develop and manage positive relationships with key suppliers. SunSource represents quality manufacturers and key product lines in the areas of industrial and mobile hydraulics, pneumatics, automation/motion control, lubrication and filtration related industrial components and services, including system design and service and repair.
Essential Functions
- The position is based in the Phoenix area and about 50% travel is expected.
- Direct all day-to-day sales activities and will supervise ~10 account managers covering 5 states.
- The mission of the District Manager is to lead, motivate, develop, and coach the sales team to operate at peak productivity levels.
- Developing a sales plan for the district, and collaboratively for each account manager
- Execution of sales plan, achieving growth objectives for new accounts, overall revenue, market share and margin improvement
- Implement company’s strategic initiatives
- Assess and improve the sales teams performance through coaching, training and development
- Collaborate with customer service
- Provide team leadership of multiple shops by collaborating with operations associates
Experience, Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two-year technical degree is a minimum requirement.
- CFPS / FPS certifications are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience within service and repair of fluid power products and systems, with at least 3 years in Sales Management.
- Experienced in selling value-add Fluid Power solutions is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, develop, and manage a sales group.
- Ability to obtain productivity improvement, and to help account managers achieve higher sales levels.
- P&L familiarity, including the ability to work with and/or produce budgets, forecasts, sales reports, etc.
