Your Mission
Design, develop, and deploy automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms to support data-driven analytics. Work with distributed, scalable big data stores and leverage cloud technologies to build high-performance solutions.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
- Skilled in designing and developing automated analytic software
- Experienced in deploying data-driven and event-driven analytics
- Proficient in documenting data models, schemas, and technical specifications
- Comfortable working with serialization data interchange formats like JSON and BSON
- Knowledgeable in distributed scalable Big Data Stores such as HBase, Accumulo, or Big Table
- Strong in object-oriented design and development
A Day in the Life Of
- Develop and deploy analytics using Pig, PySpark, and Piranhas
- Work with Hadoop, Hive, and HDFS to implement scalable solutions
- Integrate and extend FOSS/COTS products into the software stack
- Document ontologies, schemas, data dictionaries, and application interfaces
- Design and deploy analytics that discover and exploit social networks
- Collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver cloud-based solutions
Must Haves
- 6+ years of experience with Java
- Experience with MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, and HDFS
- Proficiency in distributed NoSQL databases such as HBase, Accumulo, or Big Table
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or 4 additional years of relevant experience)
Nice to Have
- Python, Java, or Scala experience
- Apache NiFi and Ansible proficiency
- Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment
- MongoDB or strong NoSQL experience
- Understanding of cloud scalability and cloud certifications
- Experience with linguistic analytics and rules engine-based orchestration
