Role Overview
This position is key in ensuring that security is at the forefront of our development practices. As a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer, you will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to implement robust security measures throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will be crucial in building secure systems, enhancing our security posture, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Security Implementation & Automation:
- Design and integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline security processes.
- Implement and maintain security tools and processes, such as SAST, DAST, and vulnerability management, to identify and mitigate risks.
Collaboration & Advocacy:
- Work closely with development and operation teams to embed security requirements in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Advocate for application security during design and code review phases, ensuring the adoption of best practices.
Monitoring & Compliance:
- Monitor security trends and threats to proactively address potential risks.
- Ensure solutions comply with security policies and regulatory standards, engaging in continuous compliance assessments.
Continuous Improvement & Training:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of security training and awareness programs for teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve security practices and enhance system resilience through innovative solutions.
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps, Security Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience with security tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience designing secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of web application security principles, OWASP Top Ten, and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., Certified DevSecOps Professional, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
