Our team is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of the avionics subsystem, requiring strong cross-functional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. This role includes responsibility for the design and integration of the flight computer and related circuitry.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and test ofelectronic circuits for commercial human spaceflight modules
- Translate high-level project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams in R&D, mechanical design, software, manufacturing, and support
- Act as responsible engineer for the flight computer PBS item
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing product schedules to ensure timely development, production, and delivery throughout the product lifecycle
- Design single PCBs and/or complete instruments including FPGA, microprocessors, power, and analog components
- Rapidly build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing, and support
- Perform additional job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college andrequires a minimum of 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
- Familiarity with data interface protocols and associated hardware such as Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, I2C, SPI etc
- Experience with test hardware such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, electronic load banks, power supplies, power analyzers
- Prior experience in design and integration of power systems
- Prior experience in design and test of stepper and brushless DC-DC control circuits

- Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task
Requirements
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
