Our flat organizational structure and focus on a true meritocracy attracts individuals with an edge, which contributes to our consistent success.As a Trader for Gelber Coöperatief in our Amsterdam office, you will have an opportunity to play a critical role as we expand our footprint throughout Europe. You will be joining a small and successful office with over a decade of experience in a variety of asset classes and a wide range of trading styles. You will work with talented individuals to capitalize on the market and build out a growing trading office. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, a competitive attitude, and a proven record of profitability in a trading position for at least two years.This position will sit in Gelber’s Amsterdam office working to either drive your own unique strategy or as a member of an existing trading desk, executing proprietary trading strategies, and conducting data analysis to improve performance.
We’re seeking both experienced independent traders and trading teams that have a proven track record of performance, that are looking for a platform and resources to amplify their success. As a Global firm with a track record of success for over 40 years, we have unique access to exchanges, capital, and technology that can take your strategy to the next level.What you’ll do:
- Generate alpha using proprietary trading strategies
- Manage your own trading book with access to multiple exchanges and asset classes
- Conduct research to develop new alpha strategies
- An active participant in advancing the groups proprietary python libraries
What we’d like to see:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or a related field
- Experience using Python (Pandas, NumPy), Excel and SQL
- Proven track record of profitability as a trader for at least two years in a risk taking role
- Solid understanding of numerical and statistical analysis concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn, understand and apply new concepts quickly
- Proven self-starter with exceptional product knowledge, trading methodology, and market insight
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required and other languages are always welcome
- Ability to manage and communicate risk in accordance with the policies and limits set forth by the Firm
- Proficiency with trading platforms, execution tactics, and market data analysis tools
