Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced VP of Logistics & Operations to join our executive team in Milan and drive operational excellence across our marketplace. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of Everli’s day-to-day delivery operations – from logistics and fulfillment to customer delivery experience. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep logistics expertise and hands-on leadership style, especially in growing and managing gig workforce networks (such as rideshare or food delivery).

You will be tasked with improving our operations into a performance-driven organization, set and track key KPIs  and ensure we consistently deliver outstanding service. This role requires someone who can roll up their sleeves to solve problems on the ground while also contributing to high-level strategy. You will work closely with the CEO on overall business direction and collaborate with the CTO on logistics technology (the CTO will handle technical implementation, and you’ll provide the operational strategy input). Key Responsibilities


Operational Strategy & Restructuring: Assess and improve current operations (processes, teams, and tools) to build a highly efficient, performance-driven organization. Identify gaps or inefficiencies and implement improvements to streamline workflows increase efficiency and quality of service;

  • KPI Definition & Management: Define, implement, and monitor key operational KPIs, focusing on:
  • Same-day availability of delivery services for our customers
  • Reducing the number of unfulfilled orders (ensure orders are completed successfully)
  • Minimizing late deliveries and improving on-time delivery rates. Use data and analytics to track these metrics, report on performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed targets
  • Ensuring performance of area managers and their respective cities;

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and CTO to optimize Everli’s logistics strategy. Provide strategic input on operational needs and innovations while the CTO manages the technical implementation of logistics systems (routing software, shopper apps, etc.). Ensure alignment between operational processes and the technology platform for seamless execution;
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, develop incentive structures, training programs, and clear growth pathways for team members to drive efficiency and accountability without unnecessary expansion of headcount, foster a culture of excellence, where team members are motivated to achieve their goals and continuously improve;
  • Delivery & Fulfillment Optimization: Ensure high service levels across 60+ cities by optimizing delivery and fulfillment strategies. This includes efficient shopper (gig worker) scheduling, route planning, and partnerships with supermarkets as well as exploring incorporating alternative logistics models for efficiency. Continuously refine processes for order picking, packing, and last-mile delivery to improve speed and reliability of service;
  • Hands-On Problem Solving:Lead by example with a hands-on approach – be prepared to step into daily operations to resolve urgent issues and support the team during critical peak hours as well as being creative on how to grow the shopper and logistics network across italy. Demonstrating this level of involvement will help instill a problem-solving mindset throughout the organization;
  • Quality & Performance Management: Establish a robust performance monitoring system for operations. Analyze operational data to pinpoint issues or trends (e.g., delay patterns, bottlenecks) and implement action plans to address them. Ensure that customer experience feedback is incorporated into operational improvements so that our service quality remains high as we scale;
  • Scalable Growth Planning: Collaborate on Everli’s expansion plans by ensuring operations are scalable and ready for new city launches or increased order volumes. Develop playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for replicating the Everli model in new locations efficiently. Make strategic decisions about resource allocation, always balancing growth with operational sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Proven Logistics & Operations Leadership: Extensive experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management roles. Experience in managing or building gig-economy or logistics workforce networks (such as rideshare, courier, or food delivery platforms) is highly desired – you understand the dynamics of working with freelance/contract drivers or shoppers at scale;
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to define and track performance KPIs, analyze data to derive insights, and translate those insights into actionable operational strategies. You can balance big-picture strategic thinking with attention to detail in execution;
  • Performance-Driven Leadership: Proven track record of rigorously enforcing a culture of accountability and results across operations teams. You provide the necessary coaching, tools, and support to empower your team, while maintaining high standards—you're comfortable having tough conversations and making difficult decisions to drive continuous improvement;
  • Hands-On Problem Solver: A roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style – you are not afraid to get involved in day-to-day operations. You have a track record of stepping in to fix problems on the ground and can make quick decisions during high-pressure situations to keep operations running smoothly;
  • Team Building & People Management: Strong leadership and people management skills. Experience in building and restructuring teams, mentoring managers, and fostering a high-performance culture. You know how to create incentive programs and career development plans that boost team productivity and morale;
  • Multicity Operations Experience: Experience managing operations across multiple cities or regions. Understanding of the challenges in maintaining consistent service quality in different locations and how to optimize local operations while adhering to a centralized strategy;
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders. You can collaborate effectively with C-suite executives (CEO, CTO, etc.), as well as align operations with other departments like Product, Customer Service, and Sales;
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with last-mile delivery technologies, logistics software, and marketplace business models. Up-to-date on best practices in the on-demand delivery industry and innovative strategies for efficiency;
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus but not required if compensated by strong practical experience;
