Position Overview:


As a Staff Data Engineer, you will contribute directly to shaping and scaling our data infrastructure to support our rapidly evolving platform. Working closely with data scientists, engineers, and business teams, you will design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake, Snowplow, AWS, SQL, and Python. You will work on complex data challenges, enabling us to deliver personalized experiences and actionable insights to consumers and partners. Your expertise in mapping business needs to data solutions will be instrumental in ensuring we stay ahead of industry trends and provide optimal user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:


Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures that handle large and complex data sets efficiently.Implement and optimize ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring high data availability and integrity.Work with Snowflake to manage, model, and optimize data warehouses, ensuring reliable data access for analysis and reporting.Utilize Snowplow to track web and mobile events, ensuring that data collection pipelines are accurate and scalable.Collaborate with business teams to translate business requirements into data solutions, creating effective data processes and workflows.Write optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from different sources.Leverage Python to build data automation scripts, manipulate data, and integrate with other services for seamless data workflows.Integrate AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Kinesis to optimize data storage, processing, and analytics across the platform.Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all data pipelines and architectures.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.Create comprehensive documentation for data architectures, workflows, and business mappings.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.Hands-on experience with data architecture, database design, and data pipeline management.Proficiency in Snowflake, including experience with data modeling, performance optimization, and query tuning.Experience working with Snowplow for event tracking, data collection, and analytics.Expertise in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.Proficiency in Python for developing data automation, scripting, and manipulation solutions.Strong experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift for data storage and processing.Solid experience with ETL processes and data transformation techniques.Ability to map business processes to data architecture, ensuring alignment between business requirements and data solutions.Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for tackling complex data challenges.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across teams.A passion for continuous learning and adapting to new data engineering technologies and methodologies.
