If you are looking for the opportunity to join a new and exciting airline that offers the chance to make your mark on aviation history, keep reading!The Airport Operations Coordinator is a vital role within the Operations Control Center (OCC), acting as a crucial link for the Airport Operations Division.

The AOS Coordinator facilitates collaboration and addresses situations impacting customers and operations, working closely with the Operations Manager and Dispatch Team. Responsibilities include managing customer check-in issues, communication during service interruptions, weight and balance concerns, IROPS (Irregular Operations), and other problem-solving tasks beyond regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Avelo Airport Operations processes and procedures.
  • Provide prompt assistance to the Airports team in addressing queries and navigating processes.
  • Connect Crewmembers with available resources to resolve field issues.
  • Ensure Airport Crewmembers' calls/messages are responded to within 3 minutes.
  • Handle inquiries related to Airport Operations systems, including the Reservation and Departure Control System, proficiently.
  • Address system operational questions immediately.
  • Collaborate with IT or business partners for timely issue resolution.
  • Investigate delays and service failures, escalating them to Airport Operations Leadership when necessary.
  • Coordinate all Airport activities during IRROPS.
  • Advocate for customers by developing plans for the best customer outcomes.
  • Promptly communicate pertinent information and challenges to Dispatch/Maintenance Control and affected airports.
  • Develop diversion recovery plans and monitor tarmac times proactively to prevent regulatory violations.
  • Send Situation Reports (SITREPs) to operational leaders and stakeholders during IRROPS.
  • Ensure timely announcements and amenities for customers during IRROPS.
  • Initiate and lead conference calls with leadership.
  • Communicate customer recovery requirements to the Airports and the Customer Support Center (CSC).
  • Send SMS messages to customers during IRROPS to inform them about delays, cancellations, or diversion recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with OCC Managers, Airport Ops, Flight Ops, Inflight, Maintenance, and the CSC to continuously improve processes.
  • Drive the evolution of IRROPS preparation and processes.
  • Regularly contribute to the Airport Operations Support Playbook.
  • Develop processes to simplify and streamline IRROPS.
  • Influence communication across all Operations departments.
  • Participate in decisions regarding customer recovery efforts during IRROPS.
  • Expert knowledge of airport operations and inter-departmental process flow.
  • Ability to identify concerns or patterns and effectively problem-solve while striving for excellence.
  • Self-initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to present Senior Leadership with operational updates via email and in person

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 3 years of Airport Operations experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Flexible schedule to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Tenacious problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work through complexity to identify root causes and develop effective, simple solutions.
  • Independent judgment and sound decision-making skills.
