Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer for Task 5 -Rapid Response Team. This position will require in-depth knowledge of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in a DoD IT environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in routers, switches, software-defined networks, and be able to provide technical support and guidance for all network-related activities.
What You Will Do:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network routers, switches, and associated technologies.
- Design and architect routed and switched networks to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of software-defined networks (SDNs).
- Monitor network performance, trending, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
- Use current and emerging network design principles and protocols to optimize network infrastructure.
- Work with multi-tenant network architectures to meet business and security requirements.
- Utilize various types of network routing and switching equipment from multiple vendors.
- Develop and execute scripts for monitoring and automating network threshold events.
- Provide expert support for troubleshooting complex network issues in a DoD IT environment.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure integration and seamless operation of network systems.
Requirements
What We Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of primary experience operating, troubleshooting, and installing network routers and switches.
- Minimum five (5) years of primary experience designing and architecting routed and switched networks.
- Minimum two (2) years as a senior or lead engineer in planning, designing, and building software-defined networks (SDNs).
- Minimum three (3) years in a DoD environment.
- Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services.
- Monitoring network performance and resource utilization, trending, capacity planning.
- Use of current and emergent network design principles and protocols.
- Experience with network virtualization technologies.
- Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
- Familiarity with a width variety network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendors.
- Scripting languages and coding for network threshold events.
Certifications:
- One nationally recognized certification for senior network administrators/engineers/architects tied to the proposed solution’s routers and switches.
- IAT Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (IAT Level III certification must be obtained within 120 days after the start of the BPA PoP for the Senior Network Engineer).
Clearance Level:
Active TS/SCI Clearance.
