IN A NUTSHELL…


The Manager, Cultivation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the greenhouse from Clone to Harvest  to include but not limited to day-to-day operations, support for cultivation employees, coordinating labor and production manager and making strategic decisions for best practices. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


  • Maintain and enforce a culture of compliance for all cultivation activities with strict adherence to the Florida Statues for a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, as well as regulations set forth by local, state and federal agencies such as OSHA.
  • Responsible for the documentation and updates of all cultivation standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions (WI), and equipment guides (EG) with the support of Compliance and the training team.
  • Ensure cultivation excellence in all aspects of grow operations. This role will be very “hands-on” in all aspects of the cultivation process.
  • Manage all grow operation tasks - cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, waste disposal, and inventory management.
  • Collaborates with the harvest and environmental services team to ensure rooms are harvested and cleaned in rotation with the production schedule to maximize room occupancy.
  • Responsible for overseeing recruitment, performance evaluations, employee relations, payroll, engagement, and related tasks. 
  • Work with IPM to ensure all pest prevention and foliar spray schedules are being maintained.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and management to direct proper growing decisions.
  • Focus on plant health and wellness.
  • Be an effective and collaborative partner with other department managers as well as the cultivation enterprise teams.
  • Works with Enterprise Grow Team on selecting and launching new genetics.
  • Implement effective systems and routines throughout the cultivation process to manage and track overall plant health.
  • Manage the cultivation systems. Ensure proper inputs and confirm operations through daily audit of monitoring data.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the production and labor teams. Assist with labor scheduling and hiring needs.
  • Oversees the management the greenhouse control system – Argus.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING


Required

  • Age 21 or over
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
  • 3-5 years leadership in commercial greenhouse or indoor growing environments
  • Working knowledge of advanced greenhouse systems: computerized controls, irrigation, hydroponic growing systems
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense, and resourcefulness
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office computer skills and ability to adapt to other software programs as required. Greenhouse control system experience
  • Experience in directing a greenhouse grow environment to ensure employee’s work safe and under optimal conditions

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture/Agriculture Sciences
  • Florida Private Applicators License
  • Experience with Argus Greenhouse control system

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, and consistent attention to detail for 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to bend, lift and stoop continuously
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80 lbs. assisted
  • Requires the ability to work in outdoor greenhouse environments for prolonged periods of time.
