We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Portfolio Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Angel Oak’s public strategies which include mutual funds, ETFs and SMAs. The successful candidate will support portfolio managers and senior analysts in conducting credit research, market analysis, data analytics and portfolio management activities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic and growing asset management firm in the fixed income space.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and prepare reports on issuers, sectors, and market trends.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports and due diligence requests for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the investment team to provide analytics and insights for portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Enhance reporting frameworks for structured credit investments, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to investment teams, senior management and clients.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and knowledge of fixed income analytics.
- High level of Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL).
- Experience with Bloomberg.
- Internship experience in finance, asset management, or related fields.
