Position Description:
The Vice President of Program Execution provides strategic leadership and support to drive the execution of programs and products across the enterprise. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Products & Engineering, this role ensures that execution aligns with corporate strategy, business objectives, and customer commitments while enabling collaboration across Business Development, Program Execution, and Product Development.At the intersection of these functions, Program Execution plays a critical role in opportunity realization, market-driven innovation, and seamless delivery, turning strategic vision into operational success.
This role supports the realization of both customer-funded programs and long-term product lifecycle strategies, ensuring execution excellence through guidance, insight, and structured problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Execution Enablement & Integration
- Support program and product teams in delivering on commitments, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical, and operational objectives.
- Facilitate collaboration between Business Development, Program Execution, and Product Development to drive enterprise value.
- Enable effective execution through mentorship, structured problem-solving, and best-practice adoption.
- Performance & Risk Management
- Provide insight into program and product execution, identifying risks early and supporting proactive solutions.
- Ensure execution supports both short- to medium-term mission-driven programs and long-term product lifecycle needs.
- Establish data-driven visibility into program health, enabling informed decision-making at all levels.
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Work with stakeholders to develop and/or refine program and product execution frameworks, ensuring adaptability and continuous learning.
- Facilitate the adoption of best practices and lessons learned to enhance execution maturity across the organization.
- Balance the need for structured execution with agility, ensuring processes support efficiency without unnecessary complexity.
- Resource Optimization & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to optimize resource allocation and execution efficiency.
- Act as a bridge between executive leadership, program teams, and product development, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
- Support decision-making with structured insights on execution risks, trade-offs, and strategic opportunities.

- Supports the organization in achieving program and product execution objectives.
- Balances short-term program execution with long-term product development, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Fosters a culture of execution excellence through influence and enablement, rather than direct oversight or rigid enforcement.
This role ensures that program and product execution are competitive differentiators, enabling the organization to deliver on commitments, adapt to challenges, and maximize enterprise value.
Preferences:
- 10+ years of program or technical leadership experience.
- 10+ years of experience in architecture/requirements definition/analysis, acquisitions, engineering/design, fielding/integration, and verification or analysis.
- Demonstrated product development process improvement experience.
- Relevant experience engaging government and commercial customers to advance projects and initiatives at varying degrees of complexity through engineering management.
- Proficiency in various enterprise tools, including enterprise resource planning, product data management, product lifecycle management, quality management, manufacturing resource planning, and engineering design and analysis
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively.
- Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications (i.e., Jira/Confluence).
