This internship will work 32 hours per week, beginning in early June and run 8 weeks through early August. The Intern will work onsite at our corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, IA.
Position Description:
The Events Generalist Intern assists in the development and coordination of key components of our travel programs, including event operations, event registration, and travel logistics for our clients. The Events Generalist intern will provide a level of support to the internal team members that supports their overall goal of the event. This position will assist in the development and maintenance of key supplier and client relationships, assist in the registration process and serve as the main point of contact for attendees, and provide support for airline and hotel reservations, car rentals, and other requested products for the clients/travelers.
The Events Generalist will assist the Event Managers in their efforts to operate successful event for ITA Group clients.
Position Requirements:
- Must be a rising college senior or recent college graduate.
- In pursuit of a major related to Events or Event Management.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft and Google tools.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated business communication experience including strong written and verbal skills. The ability to interact with various people in a business-related settling is required.
- Business acumen with a driven, positive, and professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- Problem solving, decision-making skills with an emphasis in solution development.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple, projects simultaneously in an effective and organized manner.
