Internship Program
At Five9 we are committed to providing an exceptional experience for our interns. We tailor our program to provide participants with real, impactful work, contributing directly to the continued success of Five9. Through our Speaker Series, Intern Buddies, Employee Resource Groups, and other events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the business.This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. About the Role:
Join the Natural Language Processing (NLP) Team, where we work to deliver the Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities through natural language processing and machine learning. You'll work closely with experienced applied scientists and Machine Learning Engineer and gain hands-on experience with technologies like transformer-based models, generative AI, and MLOps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collection, preprocessing, and quality assurance of datasets to help us improve the AI Capabilities within Five9.
- Support the development and fine-tuning of NLP models/pipelines for tasks such as text classification, clustering, summarization, conversational AI, and retrieval augmented generation using tools like PyTorch, and HuggingFace Transformers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research insights into production pipelines.
- Participate in evaluating model performance using metrics such as F1, BLEU, and ROUGE, and contribute to iterative improvements.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in NLP and machine learning research, contributing ideas that drive innovation.
Key Qualifications:
- Rising college senior or above, pursuing a post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python with hands-on experience or a keen interest in data analysis.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and NLP libraries (spaCy, HuggingFace Transformers).
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a passion for exploring and applying new technologies in AI.
- Must be able to work out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA this summer.
