The role of
Class A/B CDL
Driver will perform duties allocated by the operations teams, as per customer demands. The Class A/B CDL Driver will transport products to and from specific locations. This role will ensure proper workmanship is maintained in all aspects of the job. In addition to the responsibilities of this role the employee will assist other coworkers in any way possible as well as the Facilities & Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily inspections of allocated vehicle is carried out and recorded correctly
- Carry out driving duties as instructed by the operations department in a safe manner
- Ensure allocated vehicle is cleaned and maintained on regular basis
- Coordinate with Operations regarding delivery schedules
- Operate company equipment as required
- Attend safety meetings
- Regularly perform inspections of PPE equipment
- Observe equipment as it comes on the yard to ensure all loaded tanks, tankers or trailers are dropped in the correct areas and are spotted on plates or boards to prevent sinking
- General maintenance of ISO tanks, chassis, IBC’s (if applicable) and shop area
- All other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications:
- Excellent driving skills and road safety knowledge
- The ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- A polite manner with customers
- The ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Class A/B CDL, Hazmat Endorsement, and Tanker Endorsement required as per FMCSA
- Minimum two years of Hazmat experience required
- Meets all DOT regulations pertaining to driver qualifications as per FMCSA and must have reasonable, comprehensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations pertaining to driver actions and responsibilities
- Must pass all DOT required physical exams and drug/ alcohol tests
- Must be insurable and have no more than two citations for moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past three years
- Must meet all background check requirements
- Able to read, write, understand and speak English as required by FMCSA
- Meet or exceed the FMCSA physical requirements
- Must not have any convictions of a violent nature or any Federal offenses
- Mut have no DUI arrests or conditions in the last 10 years
